Dr. Lisa R. Higgs, D.M.D.

After graduating with honors from Santa Fe High School in May 2000, Dr. Lisa R. Higgs began her journey toward becoming a highly skilled and compassionate dentist. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2004. Driven by a passion for dentistry and patient care, Dr. Higgs was accepted into the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the top dental programs in the nation.

During her four years at Tufts, Dr. Higgs gained extensive hands-on experience with state-of-the-art dental technology and learned cutting-edge techniques from some of the most renowned doctors in the field. A significant milestone during her studies was her 2009 trip to Winslow, Arizona, where she provided essential dental care to an underserved community—an experience that deepened her commitment to patient-centered care. Dr. Higgs was also honored with the esteemed Chairside Manner Award, a recognition she proudly attributes to the influence of her father, Dr. Stanley Higgs.

In May 2010, Dr. Lisa R. Higgs earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. After years of practicing alongside her father, Dr. Stanley Higgs, who served the community for decades, she took over the practice as the lead dentist following his retirement in December 2022. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Higgs is dedicated to continuing the family legacy of providing gentle, high-quality dental care to the Santa Fe and Galveston County community.

As the lead dentist at Higgs Family Dental, Dr. Higgs specializes in comprehensive dental treatments, including preventive care, restorative dentistry, and cosmetic procedures.
