Dr. Stanley A. Higgs was born in Kansas and raised in Texas City, Texas. He graduated in May of 1973, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree. With hard work and determination, Dr. Higgs received an academic scholarship to the University of Texas Permian Basin. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in December of 1974, he relocated to the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas to attend dental school. In May of 1979, Dr. Higgs received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He moved to Santa Fe, Texas and opened his practice in March of 1980. Dr. Stanley A. Higgs is proud to welcome his daughter, Dr. Lisa R. Higgs, to Higgs Family Dental in June of 2010.

After graduating from Santa Fe High School with honors in May of 2000, Dr. Higgs promptly began furthering her education at the University of Texas in Austin. Dr. Higgs graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and was then accepted to one of the most prominent dental schools in the United States: Tufts University School of Dental Medicine located in Boston, Massachusetts. While she studied dental medicine at Tufts University, Dr. Higgs had an opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and learned techniques from the most prestigious doctors in the country. To describe a few of the opportunities she had during her four years, Dr. Higgs traveled to Winslow, Arizona in 2009 where she worked in an underserved community providing dental care. Dr. Higgs was also presented with the Chairside Manner Award, which she gladly attributes to her father, Dr. Stanley Higgs. With her dedication and love of learning, Dr. Lisa R. Higgs earned her doctoral degree in Dental Medicine in May 2010 and is excited to be practicing alongside her father, Dr. Stanley A. Higgs.
